Making Spiritual Progress

Have you ever noticed that the human heart is hardwired to expect progress?

Farmers plant seed with the expectation that if given enough water and sunlight there will be a crop. Students study and review their lecture notes with the expectation of at least receiving a passing grade on their final exam.

If for some reason we do not experience the progress we were expecting, we immediately assume something is wrong. The same is true for our spiritual lives.

In this week's passage, Paul is going to explain that unlike other areas of life, there is only one reason for the lack of spiritual progress.
